New WIP JMD Orc Bust
Now that the new year is finally upon us, the need to get some stuff done has finally arrived. It's going to be a busy but exciting year as I get to work on my entries to KublaCon as well Golden Demon. Coupled with also trying to finish painting on my Warriors of Chaos army, it looks to be a busy year for me. Now to the first WIP of the year. I bought this little bust on Ebay a while back and have been dying to pass my brush on this little piece. More info in my WIP section.

Games Day 2010
So as most seasoned painters and gamers know, one of the biggest gaming and painting conventions in the world is Games Day put on by the miniature company Games Workshop. This convention is usually held locations around the world; from LA to as far as France. This year Games Workshop has decided to reduce the number of North American locations to one. The only location this year will be in Baltimore. I have put some unnecessary pressure on myself to have at least two entries ready for this years competition. I'm super excited but scared at the same time, as my entries will be judged among some of the greatest in North America, but I feel like I have to do this to better myself. I don't plan to win, but I do have a goal to at least get one finalist pin. Stay tuned for future updates as I prepare for this year's Golden Demon competition.

New Workspace
So after months of working on the couch hunched over my daughter's art table, I finally have my own work area. My lovely wife was kind of enough to let me convert the back half of the kitchen into a little painting nook complete with a table, storage area, and even a display case for my finished miniatures. It's amazing how just having an area to your own can really get you pumped up and inspired to work.

Kublacon 2010
KublaCon 2010 is quickly approaching and the need to get some painting done approaches as well. KublaCon for those that don't know is a local Bay Area gaming convention held in Burlingame, CA. The event is held from Friday through Monday which includes many days of Gaming, Painting workshops, as well as a painting competition. This will be my second painting challenge, so I want to definitely make a strong showing. I have two miniatures in mind for this contest so stay tuned for further updates as well as WIPs of my entries.

Mounted Lord of Chaos
This miniature is one of two Lords in my Warriors of Chaos army that I painted for a painting competition at my LGS. I wish that I had taken more WIP photos of my painting process, but I promise to include more for my next miniature. The main color palette for this particular miniature as well as the rest of my army is dark and muddy, very similar to the painting style of Brom. I'm looking forward to painting the rest of my army, although at the rate that this miniature was painted it won't be until 2011 until it's all finished.
